This website was designed to provide solid psychological information to encourage reflection in your thinking and emotional awareness on what matters in your life. While I will emphasize tools to overcome anxiety, I will address other life topics as indicated in the subject categories of the H Factor Newsletter: relationships, parenting, building wisdom, and the emotional life. I am active in the American Psychological Association, the National Register for Health Service Providers in Psychology, and I stay up on research that may affect or be interesting to the general public. My goal with this website will be to take the latest ideas and empirical research and apply it to everyday ordinary life for readers.
The goal of this website will be to speak plainly about the seeds that bring about breakthroughs in the lives of people. The lives of everyday people reveal much. I have a friend who once described the process of psychological discovery as a process of pealing back an onion. In each of us, there are layers to peel back. As a freshman in college, I had a mentor who routinely reminded me that joy is in the journey and not the destination. While pealing back the onion can be distressing at times, I am reminded about the joy of personal discovery.
